STATEMENT OF FAITH

We are committed to the following statement of faith:

Scriptures
1. We believe the Holy Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of
God. Scripture is the supreme and final authority for faith and life, inerrant in the original
writings, infallible and God-breathed.
Ex. 24:4; Psalm 19:7-10; 119:11, 105; Isa. 34:16; Matt. 5:17-18; 22:29; Luke 24:44-46; John 17:17; 2 Tim. 3:15-17

Trinity
1. We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit –
co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory and having the same
attributes and perfections.
Genesis 1; Exodus 3:14; 6:2-3; 20:1ff.; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 6:9ff.; 7:11; 23:9; 28:19; Mark 1:9-11; John
4:24; 5:26; 14:6-13; Romans 8:14-15; Ephesians 4:4-6; 1 John 5:6-8

Jesus Christ
1. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to
be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, in order that He
might reveal God and redeem sinful men.
2. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the
cross as a representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice and that our justification is made
sure by His literal physical resurrection from the dead.
3. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to heaven and is now exalted at the right hand
of God, where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor and
Advocate.

Holy Spirit
1. We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness and
of judgment and that He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into
the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption.
2. We believe that He guides believers into all truth and that it is the privilege and duty of all the
saved to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

[2]
Man
1. We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin the
race fell, inherited a sinful nature and became alienated from God and that man is totally
depraved and of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition.
Gen. 1:26-30; 2:18-22; 3; 9:6; Psalms 1; 8:3-6; 51:5; Isa. 6:5; Acts 17:26-31; Rom. 1:19-32; 3:10-18,23; 5:12,19; 6:6; 7:14-25; 8:14-18,29; 1 Cor. 1:21-31; 15:19-22; Eph. 2:1-22

Salvation
1. We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal
faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of
our sins.
2. We believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in
Christ forever.
Ex. 3:14-17; 6:2-8; Matt. 1:21; 27:22-28:6; Luke 1:68-69; 2:28-32; John 1:11-14,29; 3:3-21,36; 5:24; 10:9,28-29; 15:1-16; Acts 2:21; 4:12; 15:11; 16:30-31; 17:30-31; 20:32; Rom. 1:16-17; 3:23-25; 5:8-10; 6:1-23; 8:1-18,29-39; 10:9-10; Gal. 2:20; 3:13; Ephes. 1:7; 2:8-22; 2 Tim. 1:12; Titus 2:11-14; Heb. 11:1-12:8,14; 1 Peter 1:2-23; 1 John 1:6-2:11; Rev. 21:1-22:5.

Satan
1. We believe that Satan is a person, the author of sin and the cause of the fall; that he is the open
and declared enemy of God and man and that he shall be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire.
Matthew 25:41; Luke 4:1-13; John 16:11; 2 Corinthians 10:4-5; Ephesians 6:10-20; Revelation 12:7-17; 20:10

Resurrection
1. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead and the judgment of all; the wicked shall go
away into everlasting punishment and the righteous into everlasting life.
Isaiah 2:4; Matthew 16:27; 25:31-46; Luke 16:19-26; John 14:1-3; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Philippians 3:20-21; 1
Thessalonians 4:14-18; 5:1ff.; Hebrews 9:27-28; Revelation 20:1-22:13.

Second Coming
1. We believe that the personal and imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ is the blessed hope
of the church.
Isaiah 2:4; Matthew 16:27; 19:28; 24:27,30,36,44; 25:31-46; Mark 8:38; Luke 16:19-26; 17:22-37; John 14:1-3;

Titus 2:13; Hebrews 9:27-28; Revelation 1:18; 3:11; 20:1-22:13

Baptism
1. We believe that the ordinance of baptism is the immersion of the believer in water in the name
of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit by a person authorized by the Church. It
shows the believer’s union with the crucified, buried and risen Christ and His death to sin and
resurrection to a new life.
Matthew 3:13-17; 28:19-20; John 3:22-23; Acts 2:41-42; 8:35-39; 16:30-33; Romans 6:3-5; Colossians 2:12

[3]
Lord’s Supper
1. We believe that the Lord’s Supper is an ordinance to commemorate the death of Christ. The
elements are symbolic of the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus who died upon the cross.
Matthew 26:26-30; Acts 2:41-42; 1 Corinthians 10:16-17; 11:23-32

Church
1. We believe that the church is a spiritual organism made up of all born-again persons.
2. We believe that the local church is an autonomous body of baptized believers voluntarily
banded together for worship and service of God, recognizing the need for mutual counsel and
co-operation with other bodies of like faith.
